This is a day that has been in the diary for what seems forever and the excitement over the months has been growing and growing. Today was the the day that I was given the honour of photographing one of my best friends and his beautiful partner in crime, Paul & Sarah. I can honestly say that I have been excited for years about this date and I just knew it was going to be absolutely breath taking.
Sarah & Paul planned for their day to be held in the heart of Portsmouth and Southsea and wanted to incorporate two iconic buildings in their home town. They decided on holding their ceremony at The Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf Quays and then it was on to The Queens Hotel, in the heart of Southsea. Both locations mean’t a lot to them and bringing their friends and family together to celebrate.
I was to start my day with Sarah and the girls, who were getting ready at The Queens Hotel in one of their newly refurbished wedding suites, which I must say, is the perfect room to start your wedding day in. Sarah was surrounded by some of her favourites and her bridesmaids Ness & Marie. Make Up was by Georgia Chambers Make Up Studio and her hair was by her auntie Fran. Here are some images we created in the preparation stage of the day…
So my partner in crime today was the lovely Kerry from Kerry Potter Weddings & Newborn Photography. She started the day with the gents, who had a much more relaxed morning planned with breakfast at prestigious Tesco’s and then back to their family home for Paul’s preparation. The gents always have it a lot easier then the girls as for us men, its just a case of chucking on a suit and making sure you are on time to the ceremony.
Paul did have a few things to do at the hotel though to be fair and the morning was full of fun filled antics. Here are a few images Kerry captured of the gents and Paul’s preparation before heading up the Spinnaker…
Meanwhile back at the hotel, our morning was in full swing and it was nearly time for Sarah to start thinking about getting into her dress. This is my favourite part of the day simply because its when all the nerves really start to come into play and everything really starts to come together. It’s the part when our bride starts to think about her final steps as a fiancé and first steps as a Mrs. In this case the new Mrs Munday!
So after my usual speech about how we are going to attack the dress and the process in which it needs to flow, along with all the little details that we must not forget, the girls were armed and ready. It was now time for Sarah to make her final preparations before she disappeared off to meet her man at the top of The Spinnaker. Here are a few images we captured in the final minutes…
I would just like to take a minute to thank both Sarah & Paul for letting me be a part of their special day. On a personal note, I would just like to say a huge thank you to both of them for their support and love they show. You guys are a true inspiration and have created the most beautiful family with little Eden by your side and not forgetting little Hendricks. I just know there are so many more years of happiness and fun times to come and may you both just cherish each other forever.
I would also just like to say a huge thank you to all of Sarah & Paul’s friends and family. We had such a great day with everyone and you guys made our day so much easier. If anyone is currently planning their special day, give me a shout and lets chat weddings! But before everyone goes, there are loads more images below for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to leave some feedback or a message for our lovely couple below as well. Enjoy!
Lots of love
