I have been looking forward to this wedding for a very long time. Today the day had finally come for Samantha & Phil to tie the knot at The Balmer Lawn Hotel near Brockenhurst in the New Forest. This venue is one of my favourites as it takes me back to my cheffing years when I lived in the hotel. The weather was perfect with it not being overly hot but nice and bright with a little cloud cover.

Samantha & Phil had loads planned for their guests through out the day and I was to start the morning with Samantha and her bridesmaids. They started the morning early with hair being done by Laura from Laura’s Hair Corner and make up by Amy from Blush & Beauty.. It was a lovely chilled morning with loads of laughs and banter flying around and here are some images I captured of the mornings preparations and all the little details….

Phil and his rabble of merry men were getting ready in the hotel as well, so it was only a short journey down the corridor and up a flight of stairs. When I entered the room there was the sweet sweet smell of Lynx Africa in the air and a impression collection of whisky’s on display. Its always nice to meet the gents for the first time on the day as its always a clear indication of how the day is going to roll out. It was clear with these guys that they were full of life and up for a laugh. The banter was in full swing and here are a few images I captured of Phil getting ready….

Samantha had planned for her car to pick her up around 11.30 for a short drive around the New Forest with her dad before she took her final steps down the aisle as a Miss. This is the point in the day when all hell starts to break loose and the panic starts to kick in, simply because there never is as much time as you think. For me though, its always about staying calm and taking one thing at a time.

Next on the list to attack, was the dress. It was time for Samantha to get into the dress of her dreams before she headed off on her new adventures with Phil. Here are a few images I captured of her in her final minutes…

My favourite part of my blog, when I get to say a huge thank you to the new Mr & Mrs Proctor for letting me be a big part of their special day. Your day was absolutely amazing and I had such a great time working with you both to get some stunning images and definitely some that will be making my portfolio. As a creative person sometimes it very difficult to constantly be creative and at times it can be a very lonely place but when you meet couples like the two of you and you see the love you both share for each other, it really does give you a new lease of creativity.

I would also just like to say a huge thank you to all of your lovely bridesmaids and amazing groomsmen who helped play such a huge role in the day. We all had a great laugh together and it was a pleasure to meet you all. Now time for your guests…. What can I say…. You guys were great and made my job so easy all looking dapper and dressed to impress!! If any of you are currently planning your special day and looking for a wedding photograph, look no further, I would love to be a part of your special day too. Like what you’ve seen? give me a shout! ;)

Everyone raise a glass to the new Mr & Mrs Proctor!! Please feel free to leave a comment below or little message to our lovely couple.

Lots of love

One thing I love about my job is the variation in venues, couples, weather, all of which test you as a photographer in different ways. This was my second wedding from the weekend and it was completely different to the last. Our lovely couple had decided to hold their full day at the Marwell Hotel which is such a stunning venue with its almost forest like exterior.

Elizabeth & Karl had decided to hold their full day at the hotel and although the weather hadn’t been great the week prior, it had brightened up and the sun was shining. I started the morning with Elizabeth and her bride tribe….they literally had t-shirts with this on!…. Elizabeth was having her hair & make up done by the lovely Lissy from Lissy Hair & Beauty whom I would highly recommend.

Here are some images I created of Elizabeth and her preparation, plus all the little details…

It was such a relaxed morning and Karl was planning to arrive mid day with his best man/son Dougie. There was just enough time to create some images of the two of them and of course our groom looking dapper. Everything on the day so far was incredibly calm and relaxed and we were having a great day. Check these out…

Back up to Elizabeth who by this point was surrounded by her favourite people both adult and the smaller variety. It’s always nice to have children involved in the special days build up and today was no exception. With Dougie and Jaydon as my little helpers and adding the cute factor to the day. It was now time for Elizabeth to get into her dress and apply the final details before she takes her final steps as a Miss…

This is the point in my blog where I get to say a huge thank you to our newly weds. Elizabeth & Karl it was a absolute pleasure photographing your special day and what a beautiful day it was. Those of you that know Elizabeth, know what a crazy cat she is and there was not one moment without smiles and laughter in the air. Here’s to many more years of happiness and may the laughter bring many more adventures for you both and as a family.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of our lovely couples friends and family. You guys not only made my day fun, but you also made it incredibly easy and were just the best! One last thing though…. If you are currently planning your special day and like what you see in the images. Drop me a message and we can chat weddings!

But before you all go, here are a few more images of our lovely couple…

Lots of love

Today was the day to celebrate the wedding of Emma & Jon, the new Mr & Mrs Pike. They had decided to hold their full day at Upwaltham Barns in West Sussex. This venue is one of my favourite venues to work at as it offers everything you need for the perfect day. I must say the weather wasn’t looking good but everyone was in great spirits and my creative juices were flowing! I started the morning with Emma and her bride tribe at their family home in Drayton, where she was having her Hair & Make Up done by two close friends, Della from DeBeaut Beauty Salon & Georgia from The Hair Tailors, both based in Portsmouth.

The morning was very relaxed and everyone was in great spirit and the plan was to apply the make up at home and then head off to the beautiful cottage at the venue for the final detail. Here are a few images I captured of the girls in the morning and all the little details that Emma had been planning over the months prior…

After arriving at the venue, there was a cold chill in the air and the sun was trying its best to break through the clouds. The venue was absolutely stunning and the attention to details that both Emma & Jon had applied was just perfect for their special day. There truly was love in the air and it was time to capture some more images of the girls in the cottage as they made their final preparations before Jon and the guests arrived. Here are some images I captured of the ongoing preparation to becoming the new Mrs Pike…

With time running out there was a just enough to capture some images of Jon and his brother/bestman James as they arrived. With the guests arriving and smiles all round, our groom was beaming and here are a few images I captured of him looking rather dapper…

Before showing off the images from our portrait shoot with the newly weds. I just want to say a huge thank you to both Emma & Jon for letting me be such a huge part of their special day and capturing some beautiful moments. You have the most beautiful family with little Betsy and It really is so so clear the love you share for each other and as a family unit. Here’s to many years of happiness to come and all the fun adventures you have planned for the future.

But before you all go… here are loads more images from their special day for you all to enjoy. Also if you are currently planning your special day, please feel free to drop me a message and lets chat weddings. I would love to be a part of your special day and to capture some special moments for you too.

Together, Forever, Believe & Achieve

This is a day that has been in the diary for what seems forever and the excitement over the months has been growing and growing. Today was the the day that I was given the honour of photographing one of my best friends and his beautiful partner in crime, Paul & Sarah. I can honestly say that I have been excited for years about this date and I just knew it was going to be absolutely breath taking.

Sarah & Paul planned for their day to be held in the heart of Portsmouth and Southsea and wanted to incorporate two iconic buildings in their home town. They decided on holding their ceremony at The Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf Quays and then it was on to The Queens Hotel, in the heart of Southsea. Both locations mean’t a lot to them and bringing their friends and family together to celebrate.

I was to start my day with Sarah and the girls, who were getting ready at The Queens Hotel in one of their newly refurbished wedding suites, which I must say, is the perfect room to start your wedding day in. Sarah was surrounded by some of her favourites and her bridesmaids Ness & Marie. Make Up was by Georgia Chambers Make Up Studio and her hair was by her auntie Fran. Here are some images we created in the preparation stage of the day…

So my partner in crime today was the lovely Kerry from Kerry Potter Weddings & Newborn Photography. She started the day with the gents, who had a much more relaxed morning planned with breakfast at prestigious Tesco’s and then back to their family home for Paul’s preparation. The gents always have it a lot easier then the girls as for us men, its just a case of chucking on a suit and making sure you are on time to the ceremony.

Paul did have a few things to do at the hotel though to be fair and the morning was full of fun filled antics. Here are a few images Kerry captured of the gents and Paul’s preparation before heading up the Spinnaker…

Meanwhile back at the hotel, our morning was in full swing and it was nearly time for Sarah to start thinking about getting into her dress. This is my favourite part of the day simply because its when all the nerves really start to come into play and everything really starts to come together. It’s the part when our bride starts to think about her final steps as a fiancé and first steps as a Mrs. In this case the new Mrs Munday!

So after my usual speech about how we are going to attack the dress and the process in which it needs to flow, along with all the little details that we must not forget, the girls were armed and ready. It was now time for Sarah to make her final preparations before she disappeared off to meet her man at the top of The Spinnaker. Here are a few images we captured in the final minutes…

I would just like to take a minute to thank both Sarah & Paul for letting me be a part of their special day. On a personal note, I would just like to say a huge thank you to both of them for their support and love they show. You guys are a true inspiration and have created the most beautiful family with little Eden by your side and not forgetting little Hendricks. I just know there are so many more years of happiness and fun times to come and may you both just cherish each other forever.

I would also just like to say a huge thank you to all of Sarah & Paul’s friends and family. We had such a great day with everyone and you guys made our day so much easier. If anyone is currently planning their special day, give me a shout and lets chat weddings! But before everyone goes, there are loads more images below for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to leave some feedback or a message for our lovely couple below as well. Enjoy!

Lots of love

Chris & Kerry
