WEDDING BLOGS

What a amazing day spent with Louise & Paul to celebrate and document their special day, which they had chosen to hold at The Marriott Hotel, Portsmouth.  The weather was absolutely stunning with a cold chill in the air and the sun high in the sky shinning bright.

I started the morning with Louise and her team of bridesmaids who were all is great spirit and enjoying the pampering from the girls from Georgina Chambers Makeup Studio who were in full steam ahead with hair and make up when I arrived.  Here are some images I captured of Louise and all the little details she had been planning over the past year…

I always like to try and fit in a quick visit to the gents who luckily were getting ready just down the road. Paul was with his best man and soon to be step son Jake and it was time for them to start thinking about getting ready and into their wedding suits. Here are a few images I captured of Paul and his preparation to become a married man…

Back to the ladies on the seventh floor and by this point the bridesmaids were in their dresses and it was time for Louise to get into hers. It was down to Gina, Louise’s maid of honour to help her into her dress, whilst the others waited in anticipation in the next room as they hadn’t seen the dress yet. I love it when the bridesmaids haven’t seen the dress yet as it makes for a real special moment between them all and also great photos for me! ;)

The dress was a stunning dress from Brides Of Southampton with beautiful detailing across the mid section which match Louise’s accessories and bling. One thing that really caught my eye was the veil as it had crystals along the edge which just gave it the extra special finishing touch. Here are a few images I captured of Louise as she made her final steps to becoming the new Mrs Sykes…

There was just enough time to capture some images of Paul and Jake before they awaited Louise at the end of the aisle. Check these out…

All that is left for me to do now, is to say a huge thank you to both Louise & Paul for letting capture their special day. With my wedding season for 2019 nearly coming to a end, it was so nice to end on such a high and meet so many great people on your special day. You guys are just amazing and you have created the perfect little family unit and make such a great team. Here’s to many more years of happiness together and I really do wish you all the best.

Now to all of their friends and family that made my day such good fun and my job so easy. I think you will agree that our lovely couple look absolutely stunning and the day was just so much fun and full of laughs and emotions. Especially at the end of the aisle when Louise nearly broke into historical laughter and we were all on the edge of our seats secretly hoping to hear that hysterical cackle! ;). Before you go though, here are a few more images of our lovely couple and their bridal team.

Like what you see, leave a comment below…. Or currently planning your special day, give me a shout!

Lots of love

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of the new Mr & Mrs Newsom, the lovely Danielle & Matthew. I started the day with Danielle at her family home in Firle near Lewes where she was having her hair and make up prep done. The ceremony was to be held at St Peter’s Church in their home town of Slinfold.

Here are a few images of all the little details that Danielle had planned for her big day and a few of her morning preparation before she headed off on her journey to become the new Mrs Newsom…

I had a quick catch up with Matt at the church and was able to capture a few images of him before he awaited his bride at the end of the aisle. The church was full of close friends and family and there was a lot of love in the air. Here are a few images of our groom…

I wanted to capture a few images of our lovely Danielle arriving at the church as I knew this would be a really special moment for her as all of her bridesmaids and flower girls would be awaiting her arrival. Here are a few images of Danielle and her arrival, but I’ll save the best ones for our lovely couple…

I would just like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to Danielle & Matthew for letting me a big part of their special day. We really did have such a good day and it was a pleasure to document your wedding day. You guys are such beautiful couple and here’s to many years of happiness to come.

What a month its been with weddings, engagement shoots and of course what a lovely day it was documenting the wedding of the new Mr & Mrs Hatton. Beth & Lewis had planned for their ceremony to be held at Milldam House in Portsmouth and then they were heading to The Irish Club in Southsea to really get the party started. The morning started with Beth and her team of Bridesmaids and close family. Not to mention the star of the show, their little boy Hunter, who I must say is a right cutie and quite the character.

Beth was getting ready at Accudo House Boutique Holiday Suites in Southsea which is a lovely little boutique hotel and the perfect place to get ready for your big day. Todays Hair & Make Up was being done by Natalie, Amy & Faye from Georgina Chambers Makeup Studio in Portsmouth, its always a pleasure to see them at a wedding as I know they are going to do such a amazing job and boy they made our bride and bridesmaids look gorgeous. It was also lovely to hear that the flowers were by one of my favourite Portsmouth florists and Beths godmother, Bex from Marilyns Flowers in Southsea.

Here are a few images I captured of the girls getting ready and all the little details…

The morning with the girls was full of love, laughter and I don’t think a moment went by where we weren’t giggling away. As you can see from the dress, it was absolutely stunning and from Deerhobbes Bridal in Portsmouth. With vintage detailing throughout it was the perfect dress for Beth and here are a few images of her final prep before she made the short journey to walk the aisle.

It was only a short journey to the registry office in Portsmouth and I got a few moments with Lewis to capture some images of him. The morning for the gents is always so much more relaxed and here are a few images of our groom…

Back to our bride and I managed to capture a few images of Beth just before she went into the ceremony room…

I would just like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to both Beth & Lewis for letting me be a part of their special day and to be able to document it. You guys truly are a beautiful couple and along with Hunter and with the new addition on its way, you have such a beautiful family. We had such a good laugh through out the day and it was so lovely to meet your close friends and family too.

I would also just like to say a huge thank you to all of their close family & friends for making my day so easy, you guys were all looking great and I hope you’ll agree, so did our lovely couple.

Before you go though, here are a few more images of our couple and for your viewing pleasure, hope you enjoy.

Lots of love

I have been looking forward to this wedding for a very long time. Today the day had finally come for Samantha & Phil to tie the knot at The Balmer Lawn Hotel near Brockenhurst in the New Forest. This venue is one of my favourites as it takes me back to my cheffing years when I lived in the hotel. The weather was perfect with it not being overly hot but nice and bright with a little cloud cover.

Samantha & Phil had loads planned for their guests through out the day and I was to start the morning with Samantha and her bridesmaids. They started the morning early with hair being done by Laura from Laura’s Hair Corner and make up by Amy from Blush & Beauty.. It was a lovely chilled morning with loads of laughs and banter flying around and here are some images I captured of the mornings preparations and all the little details….

Phil and his rabble of merry men were getting ready in the hotel as well, so it was only a short journey down the corridor and up a flight of stairs. When I entered the room there was the sweet sweet smell of Lynx Africa in the air and a impression collection of whisky’s on display. Its always nice to meet the gents for the first time on the day as its always a clear indication of how the day is going to roll out. It was clear with these guys that they were full of life and up for a laugh. The banter was in full swing and here are a few images I captured of Phil getting ready….

Samantha had planned for her car to pick her up around 11.30 for a short drive around the New Forest with her dad before she took her final steps down the aisle as a Miss. This is the point in the day when all hell starts to break loose and the panic starts to kick in, simply because there never is as much time as you think. For me though, its always about staying calm and taking one thing at a time.

Next on the list to attack, was the dress. It was time for Samantha to get into the dress of her dreams before she headed off on her new adventures with Phil. Here are a few images I captured of her in her final minutes…

My favourite part of my blog, when I get to say a huge thank you to the new Mr & Mrs Proctor for letting me be a big part of their special day. Your day was absolutely amazing and I had such a great time working with you both to get some stunning images and definitely some that will be making my portfolio. As a creative person sometimes it very difficult to constantly be creative and at times it can be a very lonely place but when you meet couples like the two of you and you see the love you both share for each other, it really does give you a new lease of creativity.

I would also just like to say a huge thank you to all of your lovely bridesmaids and amazing groomsmen who helped play such a huge role in the day. We all had a great laugh together and it was a pleasure to meet you all. Now time for your guests…. What can I say…. You guys were great and made my job so easy all looking dapper and dressed to impress!! If any of you are currently planning your special day and looking for a wedding photograph, look no further, I would love to be a part of your special day too. Like what you’ve seen? give me a shout! ;)

Everyone raise a glass to the new Mr & Mrs Proctor!! Please feel free to leave a comment below or little message to our lovely couple.

Lots of love
