@ Wivenhoe House Hotel, Colchester
What a beautiful day spent celebrating and documenting the wedding of Lauren & Matt at Wivenhoe House Hotel in Colchester. This beautiful hotel is set on the Essex, and Suffolk border and is the perfect place to celebrate your special day. With beautiful natural surroundings and the perfect weather for a wedding, I knew from the offset that we were going to be creating some stunning images.
I started the day early with Lauren and her team of bridesmaids who were all in full swing having their hair and makeup done. Hair today was being done by the amazing guys from the Hair Pimps and makeup was by local professional makeup artist Dayna Leigh. As you will be able to see from these images, both these suppliers are top of their game and I would highly recommend both if you are getting married in Essex.
Stunning flowers by Butterfly Flowers in Essex did the most amazing wands for the little flower girls and Lauren’s bouquet was just perfect.
Anyway, back to our lovely bride! Here are some images I captured of Lauren and her team getting ready in the early stages of the day…
So Matt was due to arrive at the hotel around 11 am, so this gave me just enough time to nip out and take a few images of him when he arrived with his best man and group of ushers by his side. Suits on this occasion were from Abigails Grooms Room and I think you will all agree, the gents have nailed this one and are looking dapper! Here are a few images I captured of Matt before he headed off to see the registrar…
A few flights of stairs and it was back to the girls who by this point were due to get in their dresses and the additions of the flower girls were now added to the mix in the room. This is a perfect opportunity for any photographer to capture those cute factor images but my main focus was on Lauren as it was now time for her to start thinking about her dress. A beautifully elegant, full train dress from Abigails Collection and Lauren had been waiting for this day for what I bet seemed like an eternity due to COVID. But now the day and time had come.
Here are some images I captured of the final minutes before Lauren headed off to see her groom for the first time today….
This is always the point in my blog where I would like to say a huge thank you to both Lauren & Matt for choosing me to be a part of their special day. I know how difficult the past few years have been for you both with planning this big day and having to reschedule everything on multiple occasions, but finally, the day had come and you both look absolutely amazing together and with the added special edition of baby Scarlotte, it just made everything all so special. Like the verse in your speech Matt, I hope this blog serves a purpose in Scarlotte’s future so she can see her parent’s special day and strive to find the love that you both have for each other in her relationships.
Right, that’s enough soppy stuff and it is now time to thank everyone else. Yes, that includes all of the family & friends, you guys and girls were literally on top form with the banter ALL DAY! From the minute the wedding celebrations started, it was a pleasure to share it with you all and document all the fun you were having. I really cannot wait for our lovely couple to share the rest of their images in the very near future. But until then, here are a few of my favourite images from our little portrait shoots throughout the day. Thank you and enjoy…
