@ New Place & Porchester Castle
Beautiful day for a wedding and beautiful couple to tie the knot! It was time for the wedding of Dan & Sara who had been planning a extra special day for close friends and family for a few years now.
Todays ceremony venue was the stunning backdrop of Porchester Castle in Portsmouth within St James church which is situated within the grounds of the castle. Sara always dreamed of getting married by the sea, so what better way to do that than within a breathtaking castle on the edge of Portsmouth harbour.
I have been friends with Dan now for many years and it was a absolute honour to be asked to photograph his special day with Sara. They had chosen to hold the reception part of their day at New Place, near Wickham. Another world class venue situated in the heart of Hampshire and with its ornate features and iron gate frontage, it really does captivate a photographers creative juices!
I started the day with Sara and her team of bridesmaids at New Place. The ceremony wasn’t untill 1pm so it was a nice relaxed morning to start the preparations. Hair was being done by Cara Partridge and Make-Up by Laura Butler. Both very experienced and professional suppliers in the wedding industry and I think you will agree… amazing at their jobs!

Sara’s dress was elegant and breathtaking. With detailing throughout and delicate embroidery to compliment, I knew it was going to take Dan’s breath away when he saw his bride for the first time at the end of the aisle. It was that time of the day for the nerves to try and take the limelight but Sara was fully in control. With her team of best friends by her side, everything run incredibly smoothly and with her dad eagerly awaiting to see his daughter for the first time in her dress, it was time for Sara to take those final steps before heading off to the ceremony.

I had a quick chance to grab a couple of images of our groom before he was whisked off into the church to take prime position at the alter. It’s always nice to see the groom a little nervous, as thats what makes it all so real. These were definitely nerves of excitement and you could see in his eyes that he just couldn’t wait to see Sara.

Now time for my favourite part of my blog…. It is time for the images of our couple! I would just like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to both Dan & Sara for choosing me to document their special day. What a beautiful day it was, not only in the weather but also because it was a day of two amazing people coming together to become the perfect team. Dan & Sara, you guys are just awesome and it’s days like this that I absolutely love my job as a wedding photographer. Here’s to many years of happiness together as the new Mr & Mrs Midgley!!
As for the rest of you….. well what can I say….. I guess another huge thank you for all your support and kind words. Big huge thank you to all of the family and friends who made my job fun and so easy on the day. All those smiles and laughter really do make a dream audience for a photographer.
